  SUN PROTECION TIPS               

 

  • Apply a broad spectrum UVB/UVA sunscreen with a Sun Protection Factor (SPF)

     of at least 30 at least 20 minutes prior to sun exposure

 

  • Reapply sunscreen every 2 hours, sooner if involved in water activities

     or excess sweating

 

  • Wear long sleeved shirts and pants to protect your skin from the sun

 

  • Avoid sun exposure between 10:00am-4:00pm, when the sun's rays are the strongest

 

  • Sun protective clothing lines include: Columbia, Northface, Coolibar, or Sunprecautions

 

  • Wear a 4inch wide brimmed hat and sunglasses, even when walking short distances

 

  • Seak shade whenever possible

 

  • Avoid reflective surfaces; they can reflect up to 85% of the sun's harmful rays

 

  • Protect children by following the above, along with applying sunscreen beginning at 6 months of age

 

  • If you notice a change in size, shape, or appearance of a skin lesion,
